In 1923 when the Dockweiler family first purchased Fritz Farm, the grounds were used primarily for crop and cattle farming. In 1937 when Uncle Fritz inherited the property, he initially planted a grape vineyard in the east orchard and pecans in the west orchard in addition to crop and cattle.Years later he planted the east orchard in pecans.
Today all of the trees still yield great pecans that get harvested each year.
Uncle Fritz was very well known and loved in the Cordele community that he called home. He took care of many poor and indigent citizens, often bringing them the fruits of fresh harvests.
Although his job was in maintaining the Farm and crops, Uncle Fritz always dressed to the nines and maintained the Farm the same…impeccably.
