In February of this year, (2015), we planted 35 new pecan trees in our orchard. In addition to ‘gap planting’ (planting where trees were missing in the orchard rows) we added two new rows that are planted in symmetry with the other trees. Getting the trees planted correctly was hysterical. To the naked eye the rows looked ‘whopperjawed’…(which means crooked here in South GA ….and means we fussed just a tad!!!)…..but we trusted the measuring tapes that created a trapezoid and in the end they turned out just right. This afternoon while visiting and having a special prayer blessing over each tree we noticed these perfectly shaped little hearts. Can’t wait to watch these hearts grow and produce pecans for generations to come.
